4 Ways Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Sydney Are Supporting Australian Drought Victims This Summer
Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Sydney is proud to announce their support toward Australian drought victims through many initiatives within the hotel in November and December 2019.
Considering the ongoing droughts affecting many regional communities within Australia, the Sydney five-star hotel has committed to donating proceeds from various outlets to the charity Drought Angels, who provide financial and emotional support to those farmers and families too afraid to seek help.
The hotel's Food and Drink outlet, The Fax Bar will be donating $5 from every Great Northern beer sold in November, to the Drought Angels. Other ways the hotel is contributing to the cause include offering a $1 donation option in guest folios, 1% of every conference or events package sold being donated to Drought Angels, as well as the sale of the hotel's annual Australian Christmas ornaments. These festive native animal ornaments are sold annually with all proceeds going to charity.
The Drought Angels are a small charity developed in 2014 by two women in Queensland who heard stories of families struggling to put food on their tables. The money raised by the hotel will go towards purchasing food hampers, prepaid VISA cards, grocery vouchers and care packs for the most vulnerable farmers.
Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Sydney General Manager, Peter Tudehope said, “We are proud to be supporting our drought-stricken farmers doing it tough in regional areas around Australia. It has been found that farmers are often hesitant to ask for assistance, so we hope by lending a hand we can reach those who need support the most.”
The hotel's vision during the time of Christmas is to “give back” to the community and they anticipate to raise as many funds as possible.
