International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) has marked this year’s Global Exhibitions Day by announcing it is planning to welcome 64,000 people through eight trade and consumer exhibitions scheduled across the June calendar. This comes off the back of delivering 22 exhibitions in the first five months of the year that attracted 125,000 attendees to the venue for these exhibitions alone.
The exhibition market is on track for a swift recovery in 2022 as the pent up demand following two pandemic interrupted years manifests in a productive exhibitions calendar at Australia’s premier Exhibition Centre.
ICC Sydney CEO, Geoff Donaghy, said exhibitions were an extremely important market segment for Sydney that accelerated trade and investment, face to face networking and provided a platform for innovation and entrepreneurship on the show floor.
“On this Global Exhibitions Day, it is encouraging to see the exhibitions market continue to deliver significant benefits to Sydney and New South Wales (NSW) with direct and indirect attendee expenditure boosting the state economy and positively impacting suppliers.
“Not only are opportunities created for businesses on the expo floor, the economic impact of these shows and the audiences they attract, are enjoyed by Sydney as well as regional economies,” Mr Donaghy said.
ICC Sydney will welcome Oliver Kinross’ Sydney Build Expo for the first time this week. Four of the venue’s exhibition halls will house over 500 exhibiting organisations as they interact with 30,000 attendees.
Sydney Build Expo Managing Director APAC, James McKenzie, said after meticulous planning with the ICC Sydney team, the Sydney Build Expo was ready to resume its place as the best attended construction event in Australia.
“The support from the whole team at ICC Sydney has been exemplary. From event management services to logistics and exhibitor services, the venue team has been a real contributor in the successful planning of Sydney Build Expo. After the last two years of global disruptions, we are encouraged to see a confident return to in person exhibitions including at the Sydney Build Expo. Our Sydney event has provided an unparalleled platform for construction professionals to engage and is an exceptional event in our international portfolio which also includes shows in London, New York and Chicago,” Mr McKenzie said.
In another first for the venue, Australian Manufacturing Technology Institute’s Australian Manufacturing Week will be held at ICC Sydney in June. Over 6000 attendees will engage with 180 exhibitors at this four day trade event occupying two halls at ICC Sydney. Head of Events, Kim Banks, said the exhibition marked an important milestone for the nation’s manufacturing industry.
“The Australian Manufacturing Week exhibition is the centrepiece of a week-long celebration of manufacturing in Australia today. Thanks to the exceptional service and facilities provided by ICC Sydney, we have been able to showcase the latest innovations, technologies and equipment in the advanced manufacturing sector, seamlessly,” Ms Banks said.
Other exhibitions scheduled at ICC Sydney in the month ahead include the 2022 Sydney Property Expo (3-5 June), Fitness + Wellness Australia (16-17 June) and the Good Food & Wine Show (24-26 June) which is celebrating its 21st year in operation.
