A beautifully refurbished heritage building with stunning contemporary architecture and design. Customs House is one of the most significant buildings in the history of European Settlement in Australia. Originally constructed in 1845 it was built on the site of the First Fleet landing. Customs House re-opened on 1st December 2004, after an extensive refurbishment program, which has tranformed one of Sydney's finest colonial buildings into a dynamic public facility and meeting space. For special events the beautifully restored Barnet Long Room boasts a grand colonial style, with 5 metre high ceilings, large windows and strong acoustics. It is the premier function and performance space at Customs House.The Barnet Long Room has access to a magnificent colonial balcony.
